Sharon Kandris is the associate director of The Polis Center at IUPUI, an applied research center with a mission to help communities become healthier and more resilient. She also directs the center’s community informatics area, which designs solutions to meet the data and information needs of nonprofit and community-based organizations. She has extensive experience with strategic development, spatial decision support, community information systems, data analysis, and consulting. She regularly applies spatial technologies to the analysis of local, state, and national social issues. Kandris earned a master’s degree in geography from University of North Carolina-Charlotte.
